I wish I could say that I’m surprised but

⅘ native women and girls are victims of violence

two times more than any other race

too many missing

not many words from the government

had her skin been white 

maybe they would care about her life

maybe they would care about mine

maybe we wouldn’t have to spend so much time

just to get someone on the line with answers 

the government is a disgrace

I see her face on my timeline it reminds me that 

the times where they try to exterminate us

mutilate and erase us

are still our times today
